Having used Jay Matthews (Skilled Roofing) to reboard and re-line my flat roof (50 square metres) in October '14 I didn't think twice in recalling him in July '15 to renew fascias, guttering and downpipes around the house plus repointing the ridge tiles. Again, he has carried out all tasks with enthusiasm and competence. All standards, as before, were to keep me updated and informed as to progress, ensuring neighbours were not inconvenienced and that all areas were left clean. Five star worker and a five star job well done to my complete satisfaction. Takes enormous pride in his work which is always nice to see. Can thoroughly recommend.

Within minutes of submitting an online inquiry I had a call from the guys and they happily came over straightaway to quote me for some small repairs. Even though the work was only small they were back the next day to make the repairs at a good price. I will be keeping their number and using them for any future roofing, guttering and fascias/soffits work.

The only company I came across who I could have a proper discussion about options, pros and cons, what's reasonable and what needed doing when. Jay is genuinely skilled, knows his stuff and wants to do a great job. He employs good people - like Mark and Billy. The work carried out for me was to re-board and reline 50 sq.mtrs of flat roofing which had been down for 34 years but now leaking in three areas and needing complete replacement. Now though, thanks to Jay and his team, it’s been transformed and done to a standard of excellence.

Jay is meticulous, makes worthwhile suggestions and explains the work being carried out as he goes along, in truth, goes the extra distance to ensure customer satisfaction.

All areas throughout have always been kept clean and tidy and neighbours too commented on this plus how hard they worked! I am truly very happy with the outcome.

He also removed a considerable amount of ivy from my main roof which had gone into the roof itself; under the tiling. Jay is a hard-working and conscientious roofer who takes pride in his work. Had a problem with chimney flashing falling off, having not been fitted correctly way back when. Needed stripping and new fitting properly and having been let down by 1 roofer who simply didn't turn up to quote, I phoned Jay on the 12th, having seen his positive reviews on Yell. I received a verbal quote by phone on the 14th, answering all of my questions and describing in detail the work to be done. Job completed on the 19th, delayed by a day due to problems with a previous job, which Jay advised me of in plenty of time. I found Jay and his apprentice to be cheerful, professional and hard-working.

I got (Jay) Skilled Roofing to give me a quotation to carry out repairs on my leaking roof, replacing old lead work, replacing broken tiles and rotten battens and refitting ridge tiles. Upon arrival I found Jay to be very polite and open with information, he’s not an old school tradesmen who thinks he’s a cut above the rest, he was very clear in explained everything that needed doing and came up with a reasonable price. After agreeing with Skilled Roofing to carry out the work, Jay and his apprentice turned up on the agreed day and time, they carried out the work to a high standard, completed in the agreed timescale and tidy up after themselves.
